Week of the Living Dead – Zombie WIP Shots

We have been teasing you all week with glimpses at our new Zombie range. Well today you are in for a big treat, aren’t you lucky!

Bob Naismith, the man behind the Zombie sculpts, has kindly sent us a montage of the zombies during their sculpting – very much a work in progress! Not everything will be the same as it appears here, but we think it gives everyone a good idea of what to look forward to.

Take a look at this shot and drop us a comment below to let us know what you think:

Mantic Games Zombie Preview 2

  1. Mantic Blog – Week of the Living Dead – Zombie WIP Shots http://www.manticblog.com/?p=1418

  2. Super job by Mr. Naismith, Zombie models that capture the dynamics and unnatural gait that pushes them on. The need to feed! Especially like the dude who is carrying his mates head, obviously he didn’t want him to miss out!

  3. Awesome models! It looks like they are going to be a LOT of fun to assemble! 🙂

  4. Wowza! I love those sculpts. The range of motion and dynamic poses really capture a terrifying presence. I don’t play undead WFB, but I might get a set to use in Malifaux as mindless zombies, they are just that awesome!

Beautiful sculpts! The posing is incredible, they truly look like a frightening, shambling horde. They’ll look great on the battlefield.

  6. Whirling Dervish of the Dead!
    Excellent stuff!

Again, utterly stunning stuff. You guys keep making miniatures that I didn’t even realize I wanted! Yet another kit I can’t wait to get my hands on!

  8. Well these are already on my list!

Brilliant work, it seems you keep getting better!

  9. Awesome!

So when will they be available to pre-order?

  10. only one thing to say

  11. Mantic, your timing is superb and I look forward to tomorrows pre-order eagerly! Looks like part of my weekend will be spent entering a large dwarf and zombie order in your online shop.

These zombies, and of course the ghouls, are turning out to be Bob’s standout mini’s in several Mantics armies worth of standout mini’s.

    Excellently done Bob!

  12. I want a video of you guys (the mantic team) dancing to thriller. when these are released that is.

  13. Excellent sculpts with less of the shambling zombie look about them.
    Very nice.
An affordable Ambush Z force and Apocalypse Plague of Zombies force now looks in the offing. I’d better buy some more dip !!!!!!!!!!

Excellent stuff. Itching to paint these guys.

  15. Superb. I don’t play fantasy zombies but I do use them in several other games (Deadlands/Malifaux/Near-future) and I’ll be picking these up for sure!

The only request/suggestion I’d make is to alter the loincloths into something a little more generic and ragged. Currently that’s the only thing giving them a period/setting feel and if it was more a ragged bit of cloth than an actual loincloth then you’ll open them to every zombie gamer out there.

    Get the pre-order up already.

    I’ve just been paid…

  17. Me too, I want to order the Zombies + a Ghoul horde and get a free bag before the offer expires!

    Good lads.

  19. Wow! WOW! Did I mention WOW! I am a long time miniature freak I have been into miniatures for years i can still remember disassembling and custome making my own hotwheels when i was just a wee lad of 6. then moved on to model cars then rockets and such then wargaming models and with you miniature range its like falling in love all over again. You at mantic are in my opion raising the bar to the next level for miniature companies not only do you have some if not the best scuplts around you also have the best prices wich for a father of four is the best bonus of all. Very excited to her the rule book coming out and cant wait to get my hands on it as well as those great figs for myself and my wife to paint and play against one another. oh yeah what about a nice human themed / knight type army and maybe something to do with wizards and witches / heavy magic themed army would be really cool thanks for all you do for the gaming world

  20. OH Yeah Zombies on the Way 😀 can’t wait
