Walking Dead Wave Four Week: New Scenarios

We’re continuing our Walking Dead focus with something a little different today. If you’ve got the core game you’ll know that it comes with the standard supply run scenario. This sees two groups of survivors going up against each other to collect the most supplies before time runs out (or they get eaten by Walkers).

It’s a great starter scenario to teach you the game and offers the opportunity for some tense exchanges. Of course, if you’re a fan of narrative play, then the various expansions offer a range of scenarios. Such as making a path through an abandoned freeway in Days Gone Bye, to dealing with a Herd of Walkers in Miles Behind Us, and clearing out the prison in Safety Behind Bars.

However, if you’re looking to spice up your competitive games, then we’re pleased to release two new, downloadable scenarios that you can play. We’ve tested these scenarios here at Mantic HQ and they offer a different tactical approach to the standard game. They both use the components from the core set, so if you’ve got the game, you’re good to go. But what are the new scenarios?

GRAB THE GOODS

Two Survivor Groups face off whilst on the hunt for a key piece of equipment. Unfortunately it is in one of five possible locations – and no one knows which one it is.

The key piece of equipment that both Survivors are looking for is the Tire Iron. In order to secure a landslide win, a player must be in possession of the Tire Iron at the end of any turn in which the Threat Track is at maximum.

FINDERS KEEPERS

Two Survivor Groups clash in the hunt to get a specific supply token back to their camp.

This scenario is a little like capture the flag. Both groups of survivors are attempting to capture the supply token in the centre of the gaming area. Once you’ve picked up the flag you can pass it between survivors. In order to claim a landslide victory, you need to take the flag off the board from your designated exit point.

You can download both of these scenarios from here. Let us know what you think in the comments below.

Both of these scenarios will be used in the upcoming Walking Dead: All Out War tournament here at Mantic HQ. Tickets are on sale now and last year’s event proved to be a fun day of Walker whacking action. We’d love to see you at the upcoming event too.

I will definitly give these a try.
Are there escort scenarios? Would be cool, something like you have to escort a group of refugees (numbers depending on how much points your group is) from one edge of the table to the other.
These poor souls can only defend, have a low nerve and move during the event phase.
You could spice this scenario up by gianing points for every refugee you get of the table and another group gets points for everyone of these dregs they can catch because they need slaves or something.

  2. I ran a local tournament that had each player in control of one survivor and equipment totalling 100 pts. I had 6 players show up for the tournament. There were 9 loot markers on the board. There were 3 different missions. The missions required a player to obtain a certain item from a loot marker and deliver it to a NPC on the other side of the board and then exit back off their starting side. The supply deck for the loot markers had two of each mission item, the bear trap, the lurker, and the booby trap cards. It was a lot of fun. Players earned points for each part of their mission they completed, killing walkers, killing survivors, and bonus points for killing in melee.
